Review: Fallen Too Far

To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.
Review
I was hooked on this book from the very beginning. Literally could not put it down! Just like all of Abbi's other books the romance was great. Rush and Blaire had a great connection and chemistry. I liked how it wasn't TOO long before Rush gave up on the whole just being friends thing. The big secret was great too. It caused tension and I wasn't able to guess what it was until it was revealed!
The only problem I have been having with Abbi's books is in a way I feel like I'm reading the same book over and over again. Don't get me wrong the plot she follows works. It makes the books un-put-down-able but it's getting predictable. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me explain. The characters always have some type of issue of why they can't get together. Then finally they do. Then sometime pretty close to the end they break up for some reason or another. Then they get back together at the very end. Not all of her books have this exact plot line but if you think about it most of them do. I don't want to be mean about it but I'm ready for something different from this author because she writes such great characters and their situations are always so amazingly written.
I also wasn't a big fan of the ending. Without giving anything away, my opinion is that Blaire was being unreasonable. I don't see a reason for this book to be a 2 part series. The first book is short anyway and there is not much story left except for Blaire to not be stupid so it seems like it could've been all in one book. With that said I can't wait for book 2 and hopefully the ending can be rectified.
